Another Image Import Snag

When creating an iPhone application, Apple lays out very specific rules that must be followed when leveraging its standard user interface software like the image picker currently in Camera Vault.  Unfortunately, trying to augment or improve this software can cause an iPhone application, such as Camera Vault's latest update, to be disapproved despite how effective those improvements are.  Sadly, such is the case with our Multiple Image Import feature.

After two attempts to improve the standard image picking interface to allow Multiple Image Import in an intuitive and user-friendly way, Apple has stated that we are forbidden to release such an upgrade as it violates their standards.  This does not necessarily mean it is impossible to implement a Multiple Image Import feature, just that the result will not be as user-friendly as it could have been.

Nonetheless, development continues, and we hope to have this all sorted out very soon so we can move on to other important features that will improve Camera Vault.

Multiple Image Import Part Deux

We hit a slight snag over Camera Vault's new multiple image import feature.  This feature was designed to help users import more than one image from the Standard Photo Library at a time; however, Apple did not approve of our approach and sent us back to the drawing boards.  While this feature may take a slightly longer time to materialize as an update, we are confident that we will be able to find a way through Apple's review process.

Multiple Image Import

A new version of Camera Vault, version 2.5, has been packaged up and should soon be available to users as an upgrade.  In this version include a few bug fixes and a few tweaks, but more importantly it includes enhancements to the Import action that allow Multiple Images to be imported at once from the Standard Library!

How do you use this new ability to your advantage?  Easy!  Start by importing images as you've always done, but you'll probably notice right away that things look different.

Along the bottom of the Import view, you'll see a new toolbar.  This toolbar will hold thumbnails of the images you select to import.  Import as many images as you want, and when you're done, tap the 'Done' button in the top left to start importing.  Don't worry if you accidentally choose an image you don't want.  You can just tap on the thumbnail and hit the 'Remove' button.
