The Upcoming Camera Vault 2.0
If you've been checking this page for updates on Camera Vault updates, rest assured that we have not been idle in our silence. For the past week, give or take a few days, we've been working hard to add -- wait for it -- folders to Camera Vault! As our number one requested feature, we thought it important to make it our number one priority, and Camera Vault 2.0 will be the culmination of that effort.
What does this mean for Camera Vault? First, there will be a number of large visual changes, as the interface had to be redesigned in areas to incorporate the folders approach to organizing images. Hopefully this change won't be too upsetting for users who like Camera Vault the way it is, and we hope the interface is intuitive and easy to use. Second, users will be able to create, organize, and individually secure folders, with a level of flexibility aimed to suit all users' needs. We've been tinkering and testing and revising all week, and this weekend we aim to send an update to Apple that we can be proud of.
Stay tuned for more information about folders and how you can make use of them to improve your own Camera Vault experience!
Camera Vault Reviewed!
The Top iPhone Resource has written a review for Camera Vault! Check it out!
Camera Vault 1.5 Released!
Starting today, users can upgrade to the 1.5 release of Camera Vault! Apple finally let the release through their review process so that it can start resolved user's issues. We've tried hard to make this a great release, but please let us know if you see any issues, new or old, as we strive to fix everything our users let us know about.
As a reminder, this release includes a bug fix for the symbols passcode issue. In particular, if Camera Vault has a passcode with symbols and no security questions, users will be allowed to reset their password via a new email system. We recommend users having this problem upgrade and reset their passcodes immediately, along with sending us a personal email, in order to reset the passcode as quickly as possible. This feature will not last forever!
Thanks to everyone's support and we hope to appease the critics of our last version with this, our best version yet!
The Camera Vault 1.5 Update
In the last post, we mentioned what kinds of fixes and features would be in the next release, but we didn't give an estimate of when that update would be available. Well, as of late Friday evening, we can happily say that Apple has, in their hands, the next update to Camera Vault!
Now, this unfortunately doesn't mean it will be available today or tomorrow, but it will likely be available by the end of this week, if not sooner. Once Apple reviews our new version of the application, they will release it to our users as an upgrade, so if you've been having any issues, please watch the App Store for the pending release.
Thanks to all of our users who have sent us suggestions or issues. This is the show of support we small developers feed off of, and it helps us determine how best to proceed with the development of Camera Vault. Do you have a suggestion or issue? Feel free to send us an email at jclmsoftware.llc AT gmail.com.
Camera Vault: Bugs and Features
Fixes:
The next version of Camera Vault will address a number of issues, including general fixes, the inability to import certain types of images, and the allowance of symbols in the passcode.
As a note, if an unsupported image is imported into Camera Vault, it will appear like a blank image and you will not be able to view it. These images will never render correctly, even after we fix the issue, so you will need to delete them.
Regarding the symbols being allowed in the passcode, be aware that doing this will lock you out of Camera Vault without being able to get back in. We recommend that all users setting a passcode also choose at least one security question so that they have a means with which to reset the passcode.
We apologize for these issues and the inconveniences they have caused, but understand that we are working hard to resolve them as quickly as possible.
Features:
This next version of Camera Vault will include a new, better looking icon. At least we think it looks better, and we hope you do too.
There will also be support for viewing geotagging information. While taking images with the built-in camera has been saving the location of images, the new feature will allow you to view the location of these taken images via Google maps. Access this new feature from the full-image view's toolbar.
Also added to the full-image view's toolbar is the ability to access export options for a single image. Now you do not have to exit the full-image view to send an image via email, twitter, or facebook!
Other improvements are more obscure, but trust us when we say they chisel away at making the entire app better bit by bit.
As always, thanks for everyone's support, and please report any issues whenever you can!
